Our Top 3 Picks from the JOBE Summer Lineup

For nearly 50 years, Jobe has been a staple brand for summer watersports. Whatever your age, size, background, or experience - they strive to “get you on the water”. With that in mind, we thought it would be a good idea to take you through their current summer lineup, as well as highlighting a few of our favourites along the way. Let’s get into it.

The JOBE Seascooter

Now to start with one of the less common watersports - sea scootering. We feel like it’s one of those ‘if you know, you know’ situations, where the sea scooter is overlooked (or misunderstood) by many. Yes. It’s a super fun, self-propelling, 007-esque gadget that can zoom you around the water in depths up to 30 metres. But if you’re a less confident swimmer chasing the thrill of going full Auqaman through the water, then the JOBE Sea Scooter is a pretty great companion.

It’s an awesome way to experience the underwater world from an entirely new perspective. Taking it in at your own pace, without feeling the usual swim fatigue in your arms and legs. You also aren’t weighed down by diving equipment. Instead, you’re free to float below the surface, twisting and turning with the current. You can even mount a GoPro to the front of the scooter to capture the full subaquatic experience. There’s nothing quite like it.

The JOBE Elite SUP range

The Elite Paddle Board range is tailored to the high-end SUP experience. Equal parts style and function, the collection includes variations on the Duna, Yarra, and E-Duna. These next-gen innovations include a new hook system, streamlined channels, carbon rails, and loads more. Plus, they come with a wide array of accessories in the same dark navy/orange colourway. What more could you want?

As the name suggests, the ‘Elite’ range is a more premium setup for people looking to take their paddle boarding to the next level. We suggest that it’s also worth exploring our wetsuit, buoyancy aid, and changing robe ranges to match your board setup. By elevating their already established SUP boards, it means that you can pick the one that feels best under foot. It’s all about personal preference. If you’re after something a bit more mellow that can do the miles, then the JOBE Yarra Elite would be an ideal choice.

But if you want something a little more streamlined for seafaring or touring, we recommend the JOBE Dune Elite model. The Elite E-DUNA on the other hand, is an electric driven SUP board with a removable battery powered motor - Think an electric bike, but without wheels and on water. It also comes with a remote control that can be attached to the paddle with 3 built-in speed modes. This would suit someone that likes an extra push when the wind picks up, or maybe someone older that needs to keep up with the kids. They also come with a whopping 5-year warranty!

All the Elite SUP packages come equipped with a premium accessories bundle to include:

  • An adjustable 100% carbon 3-piece paddle
  • A large waterproof backpack
  • A small drybag for valuables
  • A triple-action pump
  • A Padded Quick-Release Waist Belt
  • A 10ft coiled leash
  • A removable centre fin

The JOBE Towable Range

For those that don’t know what towables are, they’re essentially all the fun inflatables that you see being dragged behind boats over the summer months. They also make quite a few cameos in ‘You’ve Been Framed’ style clips on the internet - well worth a watch. As JOBE offer such a wide range of towables suited to any and all activities, we thought it best to break down a few of our favourites.

The first being the classic Banana Boat. This is quite a common form of towable found at most watersports parks that resembles, well, a banana (hence the name). It’s slightly less wild out on the water compared to some of the other models and it’s proper good fun for all the family with 3 person, 4 person, and 5 person variations available.

The second is the Scout. This one’s for the thrill seekers looking for a bit more action out on the water. Sporting an innovative Drain Tech system to reduce friction and ensure a smooth ride. This can sometimes be overlooked when buying towables, but the added drag can massively affect your fuel consumption, so it’s well worth investing in one from a brand that really knows what they are talking about. That’s not to say that the Scout is any less fun, it can still get very rowdy when hitting the wake - So be sure to hold on tight.

Finally we have the Donut range, which is essentially a reimagining of the classic ‘rubber ring’. As the fastest in the JOBE lineup, these towables are a whole load of fun. You can either lay down or sit up (depending on your preference), and then all that’s left to do is to hang on tight and enjoy the ride. JOBE also put a lot of work into the exterior construction of their towable range to ensure a high level of safety when out on the water. One way they do this is via their neoprene knuckle-guard handles that offer a more comfortable grip as you fly across the whitewater. Trust us, you don’t want to be getting rope burn…

As you can see, JOBE covers such a wide range of watersports and they provide seriously good kit for all levels. To shop the entire JOBE range, click here.
